Instructions

Directions

  • 1 lb frozen chicken nuggets
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (optional, for extra crunch)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (if using breadcrumbs)

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Nuggets

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Arrange the frozen chicken nuggets on a baking sheet and bake according to the package instructions until they are crispy and heated through. Set aside.

Step 2: Assemble the Casserole

Lower the oven temperature to 375°F. In a greased 9×13 baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Arrange the baked chicken nuggets evenly over the sauce. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the chicken nuggets, making sure they are well-coated. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top. If you’re adding extra crunch, mix the panko breadcrumbs with the melted butter and sprinkle over the cheese.

Step 3: Bake the Casserole

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.

Step 4: Serve

Allow the Chicken Nugget Parm Casserole to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with freshly chopped basil or parsley.
